The Artist’s Vision

“I sculpt elephants because they carry something essential—an unspoken dignity that reminds us of our responsibility to the natural world. Their strength is immense, yet they move with quiet grace. They grieve, they remember, they protect. In them, I see both power and tenderness, and through them, I hope to mirror back what is most human in us.”
 — Serafine Lilien

Each sculpture is shaped with deliberate imperfection, allowing the texture and form to echo the wild. They are not polished into sterility but left alive—bearing the marks of process, the fingerprints of creation.

A Series with Purpose

The Elephant Collection is a limited series of sculptures created to honor one of Earth’s most revered beings. Every piece invites reflection:

  • Presence – A reminder of rootedness, stillness, and strength.
  • Memory – An honoring of the bonds we carry, the stories we keep.
  • Connection – A call to see ourselves as part of a shared and fragile world.

Here the call of the Wild

I just love elephants. Maybe it was when I learned that elephant families are matriarchal societies, or maybe it was when I learned they could hear messages from the ground from the bottom of their feet or maybe it was when I learned they communicated through guttural sounds, I am not sure of the exact movement, but for a long time now I have been hooked on elephants. I just love them. I love learning about them, reading about them, sculpting them and seeing wild elephants in Africa. It has been a passion of mine for a while now.

About the Artist

Serafine Lilien is both an ergonomist and an artist, trained in the balance between function and form, body and spirit. Her work bridges the practical and the poetic, the scientific and the sacred. The Elephant Collection emerges from her lifelong fascination with how objects carry story and how form can evoke belonging.

Her sculptures have begun to find homes in private collections, carried forward by those who resonate with their quiet power.

Art, at its best, invites us to see differently. To pause. To feel the unseen. The Elephant Collection is an invitation to honor one of nature's great teachers - and, in turn, to honor the living story within ourselves.
